The featured speaker is Maria Luisa Castellanos, 

The President of United Architects, Inc.

A writer, activist, professor, and Architect, Maria Luisa Castellanos, R.A., LEED AP, has been fortunate to have had wonderful clients for 30 years through her firm, United Architects, Inc. Her clients usually have something in common; they want to improve their lives through better functioning buildings and residences. Before founding United Architects in 1986, she worked for several local architecture firms where she was in charge of projects in the Miami area as well as in Saudi Arabia, Fiji, and Costa Rica.

Besides being a registered architect, Ms. Castellanos is a state-certified general contractor and a licensed Realtor. Among her community activities, Ms. Castellanos served on the Court Capital Infrastructure Task Force.  She is on the board of directors of the Association of Women Architects and Engineers and the Miami Chapter of the ACLU.  She is a member of the South Florida Community Development Coalition Housing Committee and an adjunct professor of architecture at Miami-Dade College.
